Who is KMP?
The Kilusang Magbubukid ng Pilipinas (KMP) is a grassroots organization made up of farmers, agricultural workers, rural communities, and advocates with a united goal to transform the deeply unequal land system in the Philippines by empowering the peasantry and securing their right to land, livelihood, and dignity. As part of the broader national democratic movement, KMP actively campaigns against land grabbing, militarization in rural communities, and neoliberal policies that favor corporations over farmers.

KMP was founded On July 24, 1985, during a time of intense political struggle and nationwide resistance against the Marcos dictatorship. At a time of widespread unrest and repression, hundreds of peasant leaders and land reform advocates from Luzon, Visayas, and Mindanao came together to form KMP. Decades later, KMP stands strong as the largest national democratic peasant organization in the Philippines, continuing its fight for land, justice, and genuine change.
Why KMP’s Work Matters
Despite being the primary food producers of the country, many Filipino farmers remain among the poorest and most neglected sectors in society. Most do not own the land they till and are vulnerable to exploitation, displacement, and poverty. This injustice continues to be made worse by corporate land grabbing, and militarization in rural areas.

KMP plays a crucial role as it serves as the collective voice and shield for Filipino farmers. It challenges oppressive land policies, exposes rights violations, and proposes alternatives through community organizing, legal support, and national campaigns. The movement also promotes bungkalan (collective farming) as a concrete way to assert land rights and meet the immediate needs of farming communities.
Support the Peasant Movement!
Whether you’re a farmer yearning for change or a student, worker, or ally who believes in justice, KMP welcomes you. Together, through collective action and solidarity, we can uplift the lives of those who feed the nation. KMP is a reminder that organized resistance is possible and necessary.
Tunay na reporma sa lupa, ipaglaban.

The Katipunan ng mga Lehitimong Magsasaka at Mamamayan sa Lupang Ramos (KASAMA-LR) is a grassroots peasant organization composed of farmers and residents of Lupang Ramos, a 372-hectare agricultural land in Dasmariñas, Cavite. This land has long been the site of land disputes, ownership controversies, and unjust attempts to displace those who have lived and worked there for generations.
